AllianceBernstein National Municipal Income Fund, Inc., formerly Alliance National Municipal Income Fund, Inc., is a diversified closed-end management investment company. It seeks to provide high current income exempt from regular federal income tax by investing substantially all of its net assets in municipal securities that pay interest that is exempt from federal income tax.
The Company will normally invest at least 80% of its net assets in municipal securities paying interest that is exempt from regular federal income tax. It also normally will invest at least 75% of its assets in investment-grade municipal securities or unrated municipal securities considered to be of comparable quality. It may invest up to 25% of its net assets in municipal bonds rated below investment grade and unrated municipal bonds considered to be of comparable quality as determined by its investment advisor. Its portfolio includes long-term municipal bonds and short-term municipal notes.
