Equilevia is its prescription drug product candidate for the treatment of gastrointestinal ulcers in horses. Canalevia and Equilevia contain ingredients isolated and purified from the Croton lechleri tree. The Company's non-prescription products, Neonorm Calf and Neonorm Foal, are anti-diarrheal products for newborn horses. Neonorm is a standardized botanical extract derived from the Croton lechleri tree, which is also provided as botanical extract for piglets and dairy calves to China. Canalevia and Neonorm are separate products that act at the last step in a physiological pathway present in mammals. The formulation of Neonorm is an enteric-coated tablet designed to be orally administered to preweaned dairy and beef calves twice daily for three days.
A human-specific formulation of crofelemer, Mytesi, is used for the symptomatic relief of noninfectious diarrhea in adults with Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) on antiretroviral therapy. In addition to the pivotal trial in HIV/AIDS associated diarrhea, human clinical trials included double-blind, placebo-controlled chronic and acute studies, across various human patient populations, and included safety studies in pediatric patients as young as three months of age. The Company is engaged in developing products, such as Virend for feline herpes and NP-500 for Type II diabetes and metabolic syndrome. Both of these product candidates have been through Phase II human clinical testing.
