DRDGOLD Limited, incorporated on February 16, 1895, is a gold mining company. The Company is engaged in gold production by tailings retreatment. The Company is focused on the recovery of lower-risk, higher-margin ounces primarily from its metallurgical plant located approximately 50 kilometers east of Johannesburg in Brakpan. The Company owns 100% of its holding company, Ergo Mining Operations Proprietary Limited (EMO). Ergo Mining Proprietary Limited (Ergo) is owned by EMO. Ergo has a vast footprint adjacent to Johannesburg on the central and eastern Witwatersrand of South Africa. Its assets cover an area approximately 62 kilometers from east to west and over 25 kilometers from north to south. The Ergo operation has over two metallurgical plants in operation, including Knights plant and The Ergo plant.

The Knights plant in Germiston is treating the Cason dump and depositing waste on the Brakpan tailings facility (BTF). The Ergo plant, with an annual capacity of 25.2 metric tons (Mt) in Brakpan is treating material from a range of sources, which is fed to the plant through two feeder lines from the Elsburg tailings complex and the L/29 dump. Another 600,000 thousand tons per month (ktpm) is fed to the Ergo plant from Crown Mines and City Deep through the 50 kilometers pipeline. The Ergo plant also deposits its waste on the BTF over 12 kilometers away. The Ergo plant has a total treatment capacity of 300 000 tons per month (tpm). The Company has an order mining right covering an area of approximately 1,252 hectares (ha) of the adjacent Sallies mine, referred to as ERPM Extension. The estimated total mineral resource for ERPM Extension 1 is over 37.4 Mt at approximately 7.08 grams/ton (g/t) containing over 8.48 million ounces (oz) of gold. The Company produces approximately 143,460 oz of gold.
